How is Your Identity Tied to Your Resilience? 6.17.24.

Updated: Aug 19, 2024

  1. Resilient Quote. "Become who you are by learning who you are." Pindar, the Greek Poet from ca 2600 BC. Here's his bio (way too much info): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pindar.

2. Resilient New Article. Coffee is one of my resilient identities. More good news about coffee drinkers from a study of sitting and sipping. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2022/03/220324104420.htm

Being a prisoner to other people's opinions is NOT one of my identities. Enjoy this video by Comedian Rodney Norman .

3. Resilient Point (reflection) from my book, Resilience Unlimited, How to Always Find Your Best Path. Identity is the fundamental key to resilience. Knowing who you are spiritually, first, sets the conditions for how you see yourself in your various role identities and your psychological identities, thinking too high of yourself or too low. I love these quotes from St. Augustine from his Confessions and John Calvin from his Institutes. "How can you draw close to God when you are far from your own self." -- Augustine. "Our wisdom . . . consists almost entirely of two parts: the knowledge of God and of ourselves. But as these are connected together by many ties, it is not easy to determine which of the two precedes and gives birth to the other." -- John Calvin. Knowing who you are spiritually gives you a supercharged resilient life because it best defines your roles and thinking.

4. Resilient Vocabulary Word. Resilience. The Resilience Unlimited definition of resilience is NOT to bounce back. It's always finding your best path. Finding your best path presupposes, as Dr. Ron Boyd says, that you can have a path to find, first, in order to bounce back.
